Why Broken Auto Glass Can't Wait
An open window lets rain, snow and dust into the cabin, and a car with a missing window is an easy second target. A cracked windshield is laminated, two layers of glass bonded to a plastic layer, so a crack weakens it even when nothing falls out. If your car has a camera behind the mirror, a replacement windshield also needs ADAS calibration and windshield sensor alignment so lane-keeping and automatic braking read the road correctly. We do that in-house.
Car Broken Into? What to Do Right Now
Check that you’re safe, then photograph the damage and anything missing before you touch it. Report the break-in to police, since insurers often ask for a report number. Brush or vacuum glass off the seats wearing gloves, cover the opening from the inside with heavy plastic and painter’s tape, take valuables out, and call or text us to book the replacement.

Hail Damage: Repair or Replace?
Hail damages glass by size and impact angle. Small hail can leave pits or a single chip. Larger stones cause star breaks, spiderweb cracks, or break the windshield outright, and they can shatter side and rear glass, which is usually tempered and breaks into small pieces.

What it is: We replace the windshield with OEM-grade glass matched to your VIN, bond it with safety-rated adhesives, then calibrate the camera if your car has one. Rear Window Replacement
What it is: Shattered rear glass usually carries a defroster grid and sometimes an antenna. We remove the broken glass, install the new window, then reconnect and test those connections.
Side Window Replacement
What it is: Door and quarter windows blown out by wind or debris, or smashed in a break-in. Most are well suited to mobile auto glass service at your home or work.
Windshield Chip Repair After Small Hail

Does insurance cover hail, storm or break-in glass damage?
Usually, if you carry comprehensive coverage. Hail, wind-blown debris, vandalism and break-ins are typically comprehensive claims, subject to your deductible. Liability-only policies don’t cover glass.
Will a hail or break-in glass claim raise my rates?
Comprehensive claims for weather or vandalism are generally treated differently from at-fault accidents, but each insurer sets its own rules. Ask your insurer before filing. We’ll quote both the insurance and cash price.
What if my insurer says hail didn't cause the crack?
Photos taken right after the storm, with the date and location, help, as do local weather reports of hail that day. Send us the photos and we’ll tell you what we see in the glass.
How fast can you replace glass after a storm or break-in?
Same-day or next-day appointments may be available when the glass is in stock and conditions are safe, seven days a week. After a large hailstorm, demand rises, so call or text early.
Do you fix hail dents?
No. Jiffy Auto Glass works on vehicle glass only: windshields, side windows and rear glass. Hail dents in the body are a job for a body shop or dent-repair specialist.
Do you repair home or business windows?
No. We work on vehicle glass only, for cars, trucks, SUVs and fleet vehicles.
