ADAS Calibration Services
Advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) use cameras and sensors to warn you about hazards, and some steer or brake for you. ADAS calibration re-aims those cameras and sensors so they read the road correctly again. Jiffy Auto Glass does ADAS calibration in-house with our own certified technicians, so your windshield and the camera behind it are handled by one team across the Colorado Front Range and the Phoenix Metro.
Most of our calibrations follow a windshield replacement. The forward camera sits behind the glass near the mirror, and a new windshield shifts its view slightly. That’s enough to throw off lane-related alerts or automatic emergency braking at highway distances.
In-shop auto glass service at our Wheat Ridge Auto Shop, and mobile auto glass service at your home or work for many vehicles. Open seven days a week; same-day or next-day appointments may be available when glass is in stock.

What Is ADAS Calibration?
ADAS calibration aligns a vehicle’s driver-assistance cameras and sensors to the exact position and angle the manufacturer specifies. It’s done with targets on a level floor (static calibration), a controlled road drive (dynamic calibration), or both, following the procedure for that VIN.
ADAS calibration at a glance
- Systems: forward camera and, on some vehicles, radar for lane departure warning, lane keep assist, automatic emergency braking, forward-collision warning, adaptive cruise and blind spot monitoring.
- When: after windshield replacement on camera-equipped vehicles, and often after a collision, alignment or ride-height change.
- Methods: static, dynamic, or both, all done in-house.
- Who: our technicians, in-house. Windshield sensor alignment is part of the same job.
- Warranty: All of our work is backed by a Limited Lifetime Workmanship Warranty.
Why Calibration Matters After Windshield Replacement
A camera that’s off by one degree aims at the wrong lane line a few hundred feet ahead, and many cars show no warning light when that happens. Automatic emergency braking can react late, lane keeping can drift toward the shoulder, and adaptive cruise can misjudge gaps.
The glass matters too. We match the windshield and camera bracket to your VIN and bond it with safety-rated adhesives, so the camera sits where the manufacturer intended. There’s no blanket Colorado law on calibration; the manufacturer’s repair procedure sets the requirement, and we follow it.
Do You Need ADAS Calibration?
Start with what happened to the vehicle. We confirm by VIN before any work.
You likely need it if
- Your windshield was replaced and there's a camera behind the mirror
- You had a front-end collision, alignment, or suspension or ride-height change
- A driver-assist warning is on, or lane keeping feels off
You likely don't if
- Your vehicle has no windshield camera or front sensors
- The manufacturer's procedure for your VIN doesn't call for it
ADAS Calibration Services
Static or dynamic, with a new windshield or without one, every calibration follows the manufacturer’s procedure for your VIN.
Windshield Replacement With Camera Calibration
What it is: Our most common job. We install OEM-grade glass, reseat the camera, and calibrate it on the same visit, on the same quote.
Static Calibration
What it is: The vehicle sits on a level floor in front of targets placed at measured distances. It needs controlled space, so in Colorado it's usually done at our Wheat Ridge Auto Shop.
Dynamic Calibration
What it is: A technician drives at set speeds on well-marked roads while a scan tool completes the process. Snow-covered or faded lane lines can delay it in a Colorado winter.
Calibration After Collision or Alignment
What it is: Front-end repairs, alignments, lift kits and tire-size changes can shift sensor aim even with the original windshield. We calibrate without a glass job too.
Fleet Vehicle Calibration
What it is: Cargo vans and work trucks carry the same cameras, so calibration is part of our commercial fleet service. See commercial fleet auto glass.
How Much Does ADAS Calibration Cost?
Cost depends on whether your vehicle needs static, dynamic or both procedures, how many cameras and sensors it has, and the make. We quote it by VIN on the same estimate as the windshield. Read our guide to ADAS calibration cost in Colorado for typical ranges.
Static, dynamic or both
Some vehicles need one procedure and some need both. That's the biggest price driver.
Number of systems
A single windshield camera costs less than a camera plus front radar or surround-view cameras.
Make and model
Some brands require longer procedures or extra setup.
Insurance and financing
Many comprehensive insurance policies cover auto glass repair or replacement. Jiffy Auto Glass can coordinate the claim, paperwork, and billing with your insurance provider when applicable — call us first and we'll walk you through your options. Flexible financing may be available for qualifying services.

ADAS Calibration FAQs
What is ADAS calibration?
ADAS calibration aligns your vehicle’s driver-assistance cameras and sensors to the angle the manufacturer specifies, using targets on a level floor (static), a road drive (dynamic), or both, so lane keep assist and automatic emergency braking read the road correctly.
Do I need ADAS calibration after a windshield replacement?
If a camera is mounted behind your windshield, usually yes. The manufacturer’s procedure for your VIN decides. We check before quoting and calibrate on the same visit.
How do I know if my car has ADAS?
Look for a camera housing behind the rearview mirror, or features like lane departure warning, lane keep assist or adaptive cruise control. Send us your VIN and we’ll confirm.
What's the difference between static and dynamic calibration?
Static calibration uses targets at measured distances while the vehicle is parked on a level surface. Dynamic calibration is done by driving at set speeds on well-marked roads. Some vehicles need both.
How much does ADAS calibration cost?
It depends on the procedure (static, dynamic or both), the number of sensors, and the make. We quote it by VIN with your windshield.
Does insurance cover ADAS calibration?
When calibration is required as part of a covered windshield replacement, it’s usually part of the same claim. Jiffy Auto Glass can coordinate the claim, paperwork, and billing with your insurance provider when applicable.
What happens if ADAS isn't calibrated?
The system can aim slightly wrong without a warning light. Emergency braking may react late, lane keeping may drift, and adaptive cruise may misjudge distance.
Can I calibrate ADAS myself?
Not reliably. It takes the manufacturer’s procedure, a compatible scan tool and, for static calibration, precisely placed targets. Clearing a warning light isn’t calibrating.
How long does ADAS calibration take?
Dynamic calibration usually takes 30 minutes to an hour of driving. Static calibration usually takes one to two hours with setup, and vehicles that need both can take two to three hours. After a windshield replacement, safe drive-away is usually about an hour.
Can you calibrate at my home or work?
Yes, for many vehicles, in both Colorado and the Phoenix Metro. Dynamic calibration is often done at your location. Static calibration needs a level floor and space for targets, so in Colorado it’s typically done at our Wheat Ridge Auto Shop.
Do you calibrate after a collision or alignment?
Yes. Front-end repairs, alignments and ride-height changes can require calibration even with the original windshield, and we calibrate without a glass job. Tell us what work was done and we’ll check the procedure for your VIN.
Do you calibrate fleet vehicles?
Yes. Vans, pickups and work trucks are calibrated on the same visit as the glass, and fleet accounts get one invoice.
